We welcome you to our worship services at Roomfield Church.
Like most churches, our main act of worship is held on Sunday mornings. Our main service is at 10:45 am. Very occasionally we have joint services at other churches as well. The only way to get to know what any church is like is to visit, but we hope the information here will be useful to you.
New to Roomfield?
When you go to a church for the first time it is difficult to know what to expect. At Roomfield Church you will find a friendly and welcoming congregation where we respect your need to explore whether our church (or any other) is right for you.
We do not have a fixed pattern of words (liturgy) for each service but visitors from other churches will be familiar with the main elements of the service. If you have not attended church before, don’t worry; the format is relatively simple to follow and you will not have to get up and speak or do anything out of the ordinary.
We have a mix of modern and more traditional music, depending on the service and who is leading it. Services are structured but fairly informal. We have visiting speakers for around a third of our services, and this helps to ensure that we get a range of styles and perspectives. We would encourage you to visit any church over several weeks to get to know what it is like.
Communion (the service where we share bread and wine) is usually held twice a month. We invite people to join us in communion regardless of their denominational background.
Children are very welcome at our services. For smaller children we have toys at the back of church where they can play during the service with adult supervision, and parents are free to attend to their children as they wish.
Our building is very accessible. There are two disabled parking spaces directly outside the church (on Anchor Street) and we have ground level access to the building and accessible toilet facilities. However, if you have any questions regarding accessibility please contact us and we will try to help.
These are held jointly with St Mary’s Church. More »
We hold special services for other occasions such as Maundy Thursday, Harvest, Remembrance Sunday and Christmas. Please see the diary for updates.
